RECOGNIZING THE BEAUTY WITHIN OUR JOURNEY

HI THERE! How are you FEELing? GREAT? STRONGER? THANKFUL? Awesome! Experience all the feelings that lead to your joy! If those feelings within, motivate a action that causes you to take flight-then by all means- FEEL them:)  We are HERE! We are capable and we are ready! The goodness of our lives can be on call at the blink of a thought. Let's choose the helpful one's that carry us along on our wonderful individual paths. That way, as we connect to likeable energies that we may meet along the way, we are stable enough in our OWN purpose, to continue our process to progress. The process can feel magnificent. The struggles can feel like events we CAN get thru. Let your spirit FEEL love exactly as you need it to feel... in the moment. Even if it ain't pretty, it's beautiful. Beautiful in our reflect and reminiscense of the process. And beautiful in our diverse beliefs that we are strong enough for the process. Beautiful in just being ourselves at any given time here. NEW DAYS are not promised but boy OH boy - when we get that NEW one- it's something to celebrate with our positive outlooks and courage to BELIEVE!

Enjoy the choices you make and the FEELings you choose. To be among the LIVING, is amazing. Pick the thoughts that bring a desired action forward, to be your truth.  As always, I am very grateful for the Frequent TRYers that have returned to get inspiring concepts, healthy recipes and reviews of products that soothe the spirit. MAY YOUR GOALS REVEAL POTENT RESULTS BY YOUR DESIGN. Have faith and have fun! Congratulations on the all the big ideas that you'll be sharing with folks that YOU enjoy and THEY in return enjoy your presence. YAAY! Life is happening, let's welcome the responsibility of bringing our own personal good energy and skills to the tasks at hand.

KNOW that what feels good for you, is for you. You will be glad you did and smile about it later. Congratulations on everything powerful that is working through you, with you and for you:)

Have a wonderful SEPTEMBER!!! IT'S YOURS! See you soon.

The Food Of The Month is the Almond. This delicious nut of the earth fiber could cause quite a frenzy when eaten alone or with dried fruits. A multitude of recipes are sure to follow if you like them. The cabbage has Vitamin E (could help the immune system), Biotin (could strengthen hair/nails) and might help prevent diabetes.

Please use your own personal discretion /caution if you are allergic, sensitive or unsure.

A Beautiful Mind welcomes

PIPER CARTER
(NY/ MI)

To show a diverse reach of readers that everything is possible all over the globe, what states or countries have you lived in? What state do you live in now? What states or countries have you lived in?

To show a diverse reach of readers that everything is possible all over the globe, what states or countries have you lived in? What state do you live in now?

I've lived in NYC + Detroit back and forth my entire life. I had one parent here and one there. I've attended elementary , middle school and college here and there. I went to high school here.

1.  If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be?  Do you meditate, pray or/and take time to mentally relax?  If so, what part of the day? For how long?

Just one song? I'm many people i need many songs. It's usually something Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, or love based women in hip hop artists.
When I'm busy I meditate 2 hours per day (4am-5am, and then 4pm-4pm on average the time will vary if I'm working those hours), I pray a minimum 2-3 times per day and once before every meal (4am, 12:30pm, 6pm on average. I usually keep those times because it only takes a minute to pray and I need to stay prayed up because I come in contact with so many various kinds of energies working in fashion and entertainment.  When I'm not busy I meditate and pray longer, it depends on what I need at the time).

   2. Tell us about 2 great projects that you were apart of in your lifetime and what inspired you to go after those goals?
My history is that i've been a part of so many revolutionary life changing projects that i'm convinced that's my calling is to launch awesome ideas
and take them from start up to success.

To just name two:

in Detroit: i founded The Foundation of Women in Hip Hop which is budding into a growing movement, and I helped  launch and I am a part of the Maker Space movement which is still gaining momentum in our urban communities by starting Dilla Youth Day dedicated to bringing technology to under served communities using hip hop.
3.What early part of your life's journey, prompted you to go create such a necessary outlet as being a Fashion Photographer?

I always loved fashion. I had grown up seeing and reading about great women in Essence Magazine such a Susan Taylor, and I grew up African centered. I went to Nataki Talibah Schoolhouse in Detroit where my education was based on learning about leaders from the Diaspora and their contribution to the advancement of our society, as well as the obstacles they overcame which inspired me. Later as I grew older I noticed how the        media started diminishing the image of African people and decided instead of complaining about it i'd do something about it.

4. With some of your successful experiences allowing you to connect with other purposeful people, what are some of your day to day activities this summer?

This summer I've had the honor to be an instructor at Camp Africa at The Charles H Wright Museum in Detroit as well as serve as Coordinator for the  Detroit Rocks the Runway at The 32nd African World Festival. Day to day with the young people we've been focusing on African Cosmology using hip hop art: it's an innovative curriculum created by Malika Pryor. We've learned about the Khemetic Dieties and their relation to the planets, the inner and outer planets, various states of matter, we've done experiments, created fun art pieces. With the fashion show we had 96 models, an all-star production crew (co-coordinated by Nina Payne of Foundation Management, Fashion Photographer Jas Ambrose, Celebrity Fashion Stylist Marv Neal, Natural Hair Stylist Rochelle Jones, new comer Cat Crawford as Lead Make Up Artist, and on board for Mens' Grooming: Sebastian Jackson and his awesome sustainable shoppe The Social Club) most of the models are new.  We had WUNMI from Nigeria as our star designer as well as 9 other amazing cultural designers showcase on Saturday Aug 16 from 9-11pm. Our musical director is world renowned Drummer Rain Man and his fantastic band The Formula Featuring Karl Kingston and Keely. As coordinator I attend weekly meetings with the festival team as well as my own team, make phone calls, send emails, organize performance agreements, create promotional materials, and any detail of production.
5.  What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try?

Honestly I chose a creative career path because I find it fun and enjoyable, so work is what I do for fun. in addition to production I shoot and edit         video. I also love to watch documentaries which is also work because it's a part of doing research. I love blogging and learning. I watch lots of
how-to videos as well as read read read. I'd like to learn how to do motion graphics.

6.  One thing on my Life List (something you'd still love to accomplish but haven't done yet in this lifetime) is...

This is a hard one because I make choices about what to become involved in. I choose projects that I believe in and experiences that are  meaningful. I believe The Creator/Creatress has wonderful opportunities in store for me and I'm open to what the omniverse presents. I have deep      sea dived in crystal clear waters in the Indian Ocean, climbed the French Alps, dangled out of a moving helicopter while shooting, and even survived teaching 11th grade at Cody + Pershing High Schools in Detroit (lol). I enjoy traveling, teaching, speaking, learning, and preparing raw meals. My childhood teacher has a school in Ghana that needs lots of support. I will be more involved with helping make sure they receive much needed resources as well as providing a connection between them and our Detroit young people.

7.  What/Who keeps your grounded in this ever changing world?

My mother and grand mother are very instrumental in my life as well as my friends, youth, and ever evolving experiences that keep me awake.

8.  What are 2 qualities that you prefer and respect about a mate at this point in your life?

Honesty and loyalty. But respectful, healthfully  ambitious, open, a peaceful spirit, creative, fun, and take care of business are also in there.

9.  Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice early on and what was it?

My mother is good for lots of advice: do you, be yourself, know thyself, trust God.
this has kept me safe and secure through many times i most needed.

10. What piece of business advice would you like to share?

Research research research. Never burn bridges, find what makes you valuable: never copy because you'll just be a bootleg version of something with greater value, connect with others whom you admire, collaborate often, don't steal anyone's ideas nor image that's wack and corny and annoying.  Dream big and start small. Finish what you start. Eat healthy so you can enjoy your wealth. When you make a profit save and reinvest in your business. And always speak positive into existence.
11. What is NEXT for you in 2014 and beyond?

Starting Sept 2014 my concentration will be on The Foundation of Women in Hip Hop, booking shows and conferences, and organizing a Women in Hip Hop Conference. Also in 2015 officially launching thestudioarena.com as a self-hosted site dedicated to sustainable fashion awareness.

12.   Choose 1: High Heel, Low Heel OR No Heel?

I'm a no-heel type of woman: heels ruin your womb.

Choose 1: Novels, Biographies, Inspirational Book OR Blog ?

I'm a biography lover and yes i stay on the fashion and sustainable living blogs.

Choose 1: Fresh Fruit, Fruit Smoothie OR Fresh Fruit Juiced?

I'm a fresh fruit lover: mango, green apples, grapefruit are my favorites!

13. What ONE word would best describe YOU right now?

     Love
