The FIX YA FACE - Inner Beauty & Outer Wellness Blog and myself are excited to have your gracious return. I'd also like to send a big WELCOME to some new viewers.Your life's plan has sent you here so please enjoy:) (Sending many blessings to the gentlemen as well.) Sooo they say there's two sides to every story. You can be certain that something true will be said -when you tell your own story. Don't wait too long. Prepare that presentation that you can be proud of and don't bask in the disappointment of someone else's misinterpretation of you.Whether you chose to acknowledge it or not, you are the creator/sender of the impression that you leave. Own that position. Be the assertive messenger of your life. You will then attract folks that want to receive you well & share the same message. Create a strong bright read with your essence, your energy and your optimism. If your not too fond of the current message you are sending/presenting--- REvise & REgroup. By all means REpresent:)
I wear many different hats and I am enjoying my time here. Even when something seems to be challenging, I persist to pursue. To know me, is to know that from my aura and my spoken words. It is thru I higher power that I am able to dig deeper and think better when thoughts of despair surface. I have a long term habit of looking for the good sign-- in not so good situations. I'm silly, serious, sexy, sensitive and surviving. But who isn't? (Okaay? I see ya'll. LOL)
Enjoy this gorgeous July everybody! Find a new shoe store, a new restaurant maybe even some new company. Your personal message/vibe will talk to the company you seek. SAY SOMETHING GOOD!! Smile-put the frowns away. Have fun. Have faith and FIX YA FACE!

CHERRY CHERRY YUM YUM
It is still a pleasure to experience the foods that the land has to offer. The health benefits are in abundance and I hope that you all partake in the summer delights. This July go to a fair, go buy new paint & tackle that extra room or go for a walk on the beach. Let your imagination lead you to real inspirational actions. It's okay to plan and prepare! But it takes optimism to keep you knowing that your attempt will be successful! As the term says "GO HARD OR GO HOME". Aim to maintain a mental stability that will always feed you thoughts of winning. Quickly move away from anything/anyone that promotes failure when they speak. Be on a true TEAM-not just around people. The healthy team is getting into the new Fruit of The Month. This tiny cutey sometimes has something long on one end but it's totally round and juicy all on it's own. (who said that?, lol) After a while it might give you the pits. But on contact, it's burst burst burst!! (seeee...nevermind, lol) Yes we can only be talking about the cherry.
Summers bringing the goodness to you in many forms. No time for frowns, doubts or living in questions. Get some answers. FIX YA FACE and try it. Feel Good. Look Great. And do well out there:)
***********************************************************************************No Facial or Scrub idea this month. Just eat 'em. They'll do your body great:)
Cherry Juice Waffles
Get a non-stick waffle maker. To avoid getting burnt I closed before I plugged it up. I whipped eggs well in mixing bowl. I smashed a few cherries in a bowl for 2 minutes. I mixed the cherry juice, buttermilk, flour, baking powder, baking soda, some salt and already melted butte r. Then I mixed in the cherry bits. I open the lid to carefully poured some of the mix in the, now very hot, waffle iron plate. I closed the lid/top again. Waited for a few minutes then checked it. Once it was light and crispy I placed in on a plate with a fork. Once we had 2 stacks of 2, we placed them on a fork and ate!:)

...are nice way to rejuvenate your energy and show your hair some respect. This Dominican Republic line has a great smell and products with pleasing results, to me. With ingredients like (but not limited to) Virgin Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil and Silk Proteins- it's no wonder it turns my Wash & Set into fabulous experience.(scalp massage included-you see me, lol) Although I have thick hair, I clip my ends every 6 weeks and condition for 20 minutes a session. The back cover reads " replenishes overly processed hair". Revise, rejuvenate,replenish...re-whatever...I'm there.:) I saw the results of so many at my hairdressers and immediately wanted it for home too. Why did they tell me that I can't find it in the US and can only be shipped from DP? LOL. Never ever never ever & never again-- tell a woman she can't. These treasures were at the downtown shopping area's Beauty Supply Store- and flying off the shelves I might add:):) Keep that bounce & shine this summertime. Looking good and feeling great go hand in hand. If you try them I hope you like it, like I do

2.What was your first favorite job/internship? I started out in Public Relations and when I worked at the fashion company Chanel I found a way to combine my PR skills and my love for fashion. Employees got great discounts too!
3.What are you day to day activities? What are you most proud of that you've done? What was the toughest obstacle that you overcame? Jive Turkey is the first business of its kind to brand and market the concept of fried turkeys. The company is now known nationwide as a unique business with great products. When I did a search to find other businesses like mine I had difficulty finding more than a handful. That is when I knew I had done something special.
4.What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try? I like being active and I love to travel and would like to plan a bike trip in South Africa.
5.1 thing on my "Life List" is to buy a commercial building to place the business in.
6.What keeps you grounded in an ever changing world? My family and friends give me wonderful support.
7.Put in order of importance from 1 to 3. You prefer a man who Cooks Good, Looks Good and Books Good (does well at his occupation)? And why that order? I've never really thought about trying to prioritize these things. If you asked about character, sense of humor and confidence I'd have more to say.

*****************************************************************************************************************
1. What keeps you feeling beautiful? Staying busy and having a sense of accomplishment.
2. What are your day to day activities?I try to do something creative everyday, meaning I write and/or produce music daily. I also try to promote my line of products through e-mai l, myspace and finding local events at which to gain exposure by offering Nic's Naturals to the public. I also like to get out for a walk as often as possible, especially when the weather is nice. What are you most proud of that you've done? To date, I would say that I am most proud of the fact that I am still in the game/process.My husband and I quit our jobs 4 years ago to pursue music
wholeheartedly, and we haven't looked back yet. Nic's Naturals issomething that I love that was born out of a need for a 'non musical' diversion/hobby and it just happened to turn into a viable businessthat brings us a bit of income as well. I love being a musician and want to share my music with the world, so musically, I'd say that I am most proud of our first major label release last year. We produced and wrote (the music) for a song called 'Beautiful Distraction' for Kenny Lattimore and Chante Moore's latest album entitled Covered/Uncovered'. That was a major accomplishment for us. As far as Nic's Naturals is concerned, when I look at the range/line ofproducts I have created and how professional everything is and how great the products and presentation are (thanks to my husband Mark, who creates all the labels and procures all of the packaging,etc.)...and when I use the products and see their benefits firsthand and people purchase things and become 'customers for life', we...that makes me feel great about what I am doing..
3. What was the toughest obstacle that you overcame? Feeling the need to be in control. I understand more everyday that my timing is not God's timing and that being an entrepreneur is a multi layered process, especially in the music industry. Having great music and great products isn't all it takes. You've got to know people and establish relationships and take your time and stick with it. The race is not given to the swift or the strong...but to the one who perserveres! So, I'd say, the urge to seek comfort, stability and control on a journey where those things are hard to come by (at least in the early stages) was a big obstacle to overcome, and I am learning to let go more and more each day.
4. What do you do for fun? I live! I am blessed to work with my husband in both of our businesses. We always have a lot of fun...evenwhen we're working. We love what we doing and we love doing it together, so fun is always a big part of our day. Outside of H2O Productions and Nic's Naturals, I like to cook, the outdoors...walking aimlessly through the streets of New York is always a good time to me! I enjoy movies, traveling, learning about new wine and hanging out with my friends, who I am blessed to see and/or communicate with on a regular basis.
5. What NEW thing would you like to try for fun? Maybe try yoga or take an art class.
6. 1 thing on my "Life List" is to win a Grammy.
7. What keeps you grounded in an ever changing world? God and my family and friends...and acknowledging that although I may not always have everything I want when I want it, I am TRULY blessed!
8. Put in order of importance from 1 to 3. You prefer a man who Cooks Good, Looks Good and Books Good (does well at his occupation)? Books Good - Most of the time, your occupation is hopefully something that you enjoy and is an daily expression of your gifts and talents. So i think it's important to enjoy and be dedicated to perfecting your skills/craft and excelling at what you do. Looks Good - I make bath and body products, so I obviously think its important to take care of yourself. Men can get a little 'sensitive' about the whole 'grooming' process. Sometimes they think that if they pay too much attention to their looks/grooming that people will stereotype them in a certain way. Now, I don't think it's necessary for a man to spend hours upon hours each day on his grooming, but there's nothing wrong with trimming your facial hair or using the proper skincare products and the right moisturizers for your body...and fellas, if you KNOW you need a pedicure, don't by ashamed! Take care of it! If you don't want to sit in a salon, then get yourself some nic's naturals foot scrub and foot balm and handle it at home. Your woman will certainly appreciate the effort! Cooks Good - Do not think that because this is last on the list that it is not important. My husband is a very good cook...but then, SO AM 1 (which is why it's last). Cooking is such a unique blend of creativity and precision...it's a lot like making music and bath and body products, which is probably why I enjoy it so much...I'm the type of cook who just throws a bunch of stuff in a pan, seasons it up and viola! My husband on the other hand will follow a recipe to the letter and his meals ALWAYS come out perfect. He always tells me that I have my fire too high, but I guess that's just the type of gal I am!
9. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice and what was it? My mom gives me good advice regularly...usually the best stuff comes when she doesn't even know it...like in general conversation, or just by me watching and observing her as I grew up through the years. One of the most important things I've learned from her is to be gracious and forgiving. When I was a kid, we never went to bed angry....'Don't letthe sun go down upon your wrath'! That's something my mom always practiced with me. I know you said ONE thing, but i also gained a thirst for enjoying life from my mom as well...get out, live life, love God, eat good food, have fun and be a good person...obviously not in that order, but you get what I mean!
10. What piece of business advice would you like to share? Be sure to execute your personal vision when it comes down to the details of your business, the things that will really matter to you, the things that are a part of your branding, because those are the things that people will associate with you. That's not to say that you ignore advice from others, but when it comes down to it, it will be YOUR name on the package, so be sure to pay attention to the details. I make it a point to use everything in my line of products, and I listen to MY OWN music on my iPod or put it right there in the cd changer with the rest of my favorite artists because I would never try to sell someone something that I don't personally love.
11. What word would best describes you? Indescribable! Again, I can't choose! Maybe I'd say 'open' is a good word to describe me...today!

As per Idfa.org, JULY is National Ice Cream Month!
JULY ...brings jellies, jams and summer joy ...Sunday July 1, 2007
It is still a pleasure to experience the foods that the land has to offer. The health benefits are in abundance and I hope that you all partake in the summer delights. This July go to a fair, go buy new paint & tackle that extra room or go for a walk on the beach. Let your imagination lead you to real inspirational actions. It's okay to plan and prepare! But on contact, it's burst burst burst!! (seeee...nevermind, lol) Yes we can only be talking about the cherry.
Cherries at small & large markets are surprisingly affordable and super delicious, to me. I have been fortunate to try cherries for the first time this year and I can't believe that I've been missing out. Even when cherries not on sale, their on the money, lol. As always, you may even have a favorite fruit stand (or fruit fair) that you like to travel to. Make it a walk, make it a day but whatever you do...make a little effort to get what you like.
Cherries are low in calories, aid in weight loss and lower the risk of heart disease. High in Vitamin C (helps the body absorb other vitamins), Bioflavonoids (promotes circulation, relieves joint pain, enhances the action of Vitamin C) while aiding in the production of melatonin (effects sleep and temperature).***********************************************************************************No Facial or Scrub idea this month. Just eat 'em. They'll do your body great:)
