The FixYaFace Inner Beauty/Outer Wellness Blogazine is here! For YOU! The summer is here! Protect YOURSELF in this weather! Politically historical and personally historical times are here!! YAAAY YOU!! I am honored that you returned to continue giving your positive energy to a site that I was urged to begin as a place to share my "top secret" sources of motivation. OH it is no secret at all. If you seek a mood/thought/perspective you will surely find it:) I need motivation. All I know is what I want and what I want changes sometimes, lol. The recreation of goodness that comes back around and the dismissal of anxiety that effects the events that I have to come to terms with. Closure and the opening of new doors. WE LOVE IT!! I'm hopeful that you love it too or else you may be lingering in the wind. And not at FYF attempting to replenish:) Thank you for the even exchange.
After age 21 you are an adult for the rest of your life. BUT there's rarely any "rest" in your life? So what. Do you really want to rest? Enjoy the idea that you do have somewhere to be and that if you did not show up-you would be missed. GO GET MISSED!! When you come over to the other (adult) side bring your duffle bag of motivational memories that you value and leave a lot of room in there for newer ideas of inspiration. You may need that to protect you from those that plan to pause your miss-a-bility (LOL I know that is not a word). Some folks really seem to believe that if you choose a different path for yourself than they wanted for you, they have the right to judge. Isn't wonderful to have heard by now, that your individual destiny is as rare as your DNA and "surely goodness and mercy shall follow you..?" Congratulations on growing, regrouping and feeling like there is always an extremely probability that everything is going to be alright again and again and again!
As always, thank you to the veteran readers and the new viewers that have chosen this site as worthy of your time. Thank you immensely and welcome you always to write, read and pass along any of the topics/flyers/recipes below that inspired you in your daily activities. Remember to work-in-that-work- out, know that you are loved, tell somebody you love them and KEEP GOING because this is our time:)
I really miss my daddy and I wouldn't be his daughter if I didn't take this moment to show respect to the GREAT FATHERS! To The ones that buys ice cream and talk to us. And later 'talk our heads off' when we go to buy our first new car (you paid for). To the ones that don't know how to quite dance to this "young peoples music" but later will dance real well with you at your wedding. To the ones that taught you right from wrong so later you knew (or atleast thought you knew) when it was right to point the bad boyzz 'to the left'. To the ones that treated you like someday you too can even be the president! And later the one that actaully ....I'm out:) HAPPY SUMMER EVERYBODY!!
Exercises Of The Month:1. Drink fresh vegetable juice. 2. Get the lesson and keep going. It's one in everything:)

"Surrounding Yourself with Goods"...Sunday June 1, 2008
You are a strong, superb and sensitive to your surroundings! Surround yourself with energy and people that will help your caring heart and loving ideas grows. Positive people have negative experiences too. Let's take on the challenge of minimizing the ones we can control for the rest of this lifetime (some are truly beyond our control-I believe). Find good food, good ways to keep coool, good conversations and good people. Congrats on using your desire to balance a adequate lifestyle. A higher power watches/protects as you work and love:) Keep going! Keep learning! Keep loving!
Pass on a smile and except a kind word. Then keep it moving. Sounds simple but it can be hard with difficult things on our mind at the time. You won't be judged. Joy it's on it's way. Remember that and get prepared for it's arrival. THAT should make you smile. Once again,This June, everyone you meet CAN be an opportunity to learn or exchange working concepts. Your life has valuable properties and you can continue to discover your joy in your journey. As others learn about themselves through their perspectives, it is not for you to change them but for you to choose them as valuable partners in your journey or NOT. Like-minded, positive people will always find each other. And it's always pleasure to see you here at FYF:)

The New Fruit Of The Month is usually hard and brown on the outside but oozing with a creamy sweet interior (excuse me? lol). The meat of it is squeezed, soaked in warm water and repeatedly squeezed again until the milk presents itself. (what in the world?, lol). Thats' right, created all over the world ands enjoyed by many-we can only be talking about the coconut. The coconut contains Vitamin A (helps prevent viral infections, maintain eyesight health), Niaicin (Vitamin B3 that reduces cholesterol; promotes detoxification), Riboflavin (converts body fat/protein into energy; promotes a strong immune system; healthy hair, nails and skin) Add a little coconut milk to your internal regimens at home (hair conditioners, drinks, body scrub). Take advantage of the great properties that summer fruits have to offer your lifestyle and enjoy fun ways of maintaining your healthy outlook.
The only two states in the U.S. where coconut palms can be grown and reproduced outdoors without irrigation are Hawaii and Florida. Coconut palms will grow from Bradenton southwards on Florida's west coast and Melbourne southwards on Florida's east coast. The occasional coconut palm is seen north of these areas in favoured microclimates in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro area and around Cape Canaveral. They may likewise be grown in favoured microclimates in the Rio Grande Valley area of Deep South Texas near Brownsville and on Galveston Island. They may reach fruiting maturity, but are damaged or killed by the occasional winter freezes in these areas. While coconut palms flourish in south Florida, unusually bitter cold snaps can kill or injure coconut palms there as well. Only the Florida Keys and the coastlines provide safe havens from the cold as far as growing coconut palms on the U.S. mainland.
The farthest north in the United States a coconut palm has been known to grow outdoors is in Newport Beach, California along the Pacific Coast Highway. In order for coconut palms to survive in Southern California they need sandy soil and minimal water in the winter to prevent root rot, and would benefit from root heating coils.

Coconut PRE-Wash Conditioning
I've mixed 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1/4 cup of coconut milk and 1 spoon of mayonnaise in a bowl. Massaged in the mixture to my unwashed hair and wore a plastic cap for 10 minutes (while I clean the bowl while I fit in the drinking of 2 cups of water) . I rinsed the mixture until it was all out of my hair with warm water. Then I immediately shampooed my hair. Afterwards a moisture plus conditioner with silicone was left in and I went to get my hair professionally roller set.
1 1/2 cups long-grain rice
1 (14-ounce) can unsweetened coconut milk
2/3 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 large ripe mango, peeled and cubed in a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the rice and stir to coat with the oil. Add the coconut milk, water, and salt; bring to a boil. Stir in the mango. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer about 20 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed.
Remove the rice from the heat and fluff with a fork. Place a clean, dry dish towel over the pan, cover with the lid, and let steam for 5 minutes before serving.

1. What keeps you feeling beautiful and energetic? If there's a song that reflects your vibe, what would that song be?
Waking up each morning with a positive attitude and smile on my face as I look in the mirror along with listening to my BellaNutri theme song, 'Always Beautiful' (written and recorded by R&B recording artist, Chantay Savage) especially for BellaNutri. I teach, you are 'always beautiful' from within and naturally the external beauty will reflect. With this, my energy and vibe for the day is simply fabulous!
2. Tell us about your BELLANUTRI and BEAUNUTRI.
BellaNutri(women) and BeauNutri (men) are all-natural marine protein based nutritional hair and skin supplements that I researched and developed. They work internally to improve hair growth, strength, texture, thinning, balding, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, smoothness and softness. Because both skin and hair start from within, topicals and basic vitamins can do but so much and need to be cared for from within. One takes 2 capsules per day for at least 6 months and even longer for more improved and sustainable benefits. (www.dmaclin.com www.bellanutri.com, www.beaunutri.com
3. With your successful experiences at radio as the reoccurring Guest Dermatologist on "The Steve Harvey Morning Show" (nationwide in 55 markets) and the Host of "The Dr. Maclin Show...On Cal" on www.WOLAM.com (DC/Maryland) allowing you to connect with people across the world, what are some of your day to day activities? My day to day activities are variable.First and foremost include mom activities for my two baby girls, Cayla (5) and Celina (3) to get them off to school and then pick them up. While they are at school, I may do ongoing product development work, return consultant calls/emails to persons with hair/skin questions, work on editorial articles as the Medical Diretor of hair/skin for HYPE Hair, Braids & Beauty, BE/Black Elegance, Washington Weddings (part owner) and Ultimate Weaves & Hair Extensions magazines, prepare for my friday Radio One/WOL show or make radio appearances to either Steve Harvey or Radio One/WKYS/93.9 for 'Ask Dr. Mac' on the Q&A Invasion with Angie Ange/Quicksilver. Lastly, family time with my girls and of course, my husband, Dr. Gary Carroll who is CEO/President of CEC Environmental,Inc. which he may need for me to help with something here and there if he too is swamped.
4. What do you do for fun? What new fun thing would you like to try? For fun, I simply adore my husband who is my best friend and we just 'hang'...out to lunch, dinner, or even our own private 'Club Carroll' (in the basement of our home) to play pool and listen to music. I would love to try to 'do nothing'...seems impossible with all the hundreds of things going on and my passion to personally respond to as many people with their hair/skin issues.
5. Give us 1 thing that you are grateful for and what was the obstacle that you overcame to get to this grateful experience?
6. What/Who keeps you grounded in an ever changing world?
My family keeps me grounded. I am blessed to have a wonderful, caring very respectful husband and 2 beautiful very sweet baby girls. Whether something is successful or unsuccessful, I always know that my family will be there to support me.
7. Fresh Juice or Green Tea? Chocolates or Love Letters? High Heel or Low Heel?Fresh juice...love letters...of course, high heels!
8. Who gave you 1 really good piece of advice and what was it?
My mother actually gave me the best peice of business advice: whenever you begin talks about a business collaboration, please make sure it is mutually beneficial for both parties
My mother actually gave me the best peice of business advice: whenever you begin talks about a business collaboration, please make sure it is mutually beneficial for both parties
9. What piece of business advice would you like to share?
The peice of business advice that I would offer is to not forget to appreciate and relate to your clients/customers and give them the utmost customer service..consider them 'your employers' as they actually determine how you get paid. The same advice that my mother gave me for business, I would also suggest for building successful relationships...remember, if any one party gets more than the other, it is usually headed for failure!
10. Put ALL 3 in order of preference. Any why that order? Great Night Sleep, Great Food, A Great Pair Of Shoes.
A great night sleep (extremely important for keeping the body and skin healthy), a great pair of shoes (image is very important as well) and then great food (not as important as too much is not good for my hips)
11. What are 2 qualities do you prefer in a mate at this time in your life?
The two qualities I like in my mate are respect he gives me/women and support in all I do.

God, my son Terrell, my mother and myself. I love myself. Without family support and self love, I would not be able to get this far in life or my career. I just love music. Music sets the mood for everything. But if I had to choose, it would be, Keni Burke's Rising To the Top. It's a positive song. Red is my favorite color. It represents love and hate. It can represent being sexy. It means stop. It's a very powerful color.

Go to Hot 97 to do my (late night to early morning) shift. On the weekends, I go to my son's basketball games or baseball games. Do some gigs. I stay busy.

The donated phones will be sold, refurbished, or recycled, with proceeds benefiting the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) and the Wireless Foundation.
